We’ve got your travel covered

If you’re referred to the Southampton NHS Treatment Centre, getting to us is simpler than you might think.

When your appointment has been confirmed, you will receive a free return foot passenger ferry ticket and a taxi voucher for your return travel between the treatment centre and the ferry port in Southampton.

Inpatient and day case procedure

The travel arrangements for your surgery are exactly the same except one friend or family member may also receive a free return ferry ticket so they can accompany you.

Please note: we are unable to provide or reimburse costs of travel to and from the ferry port on the island from your home.

Why choose Southampton NHS Treatment Centre?

At Southampton NHS Treatment Centre, we offer a wide range of free surgical procedures to NHS patients to help you feel fit and well again. Our specialties include orthopaedics, ophthalmology, endoscopy and general surgery.

How to get referred to us?

1. First, contact your GP – we accept NHS patients

The NHS gives people the right to choose where to receive treatment. If you need surgery, your GP should provide you with a list of suitable hospitals and treatment centres that you can choose from. We offer free healthcare to NHS patients. Click here for more information about your right to choose.

2. Follow the process

Your GP will let you know what to do to get referred to your chosen hospital or will send the referral request on your behalf. Things to consider when you are choosing; waiting times, ease of getting there, CQC rating, reviews from other patients, Friends and Family Test scores and infection rates.

3. We will contact you and voila!

When the referral request is received by our team, we will assess it. Once approved, we will contact you directly for your first appointment with us. We work with short waiting times so you can be assured you will hear from us fairly quickly.
